There are no small projects,” says Alex Pössenbacher. “No matter what the size or complexity, there is always a challenge.” The Mexico City-born architect, who was educated at Parsons in Paris, is conversant in environmentally friendly technologies and incorporates everything from energy-efficient lighting to active solar-energy generation in his designs, on which he collaborates with his wife, Lorena.

“More than the architecture, I try to give my clients the lifestyle of that architecture,” he explains. “If the project is in a tropical area, it is important for the residents to take advantage of an ‘exterior life’ and that there is a relaxed mood.” Pössenbacher is preparing to introduce a line of furniture, lighting and architectural accessories. “I’m starting with a small and exclusive collection of furnishings of simple shapes made out of precious woods and lighting that will be art pieces using new lighting technologies,” he says.
