It’s the most wonderful time of the year in Los Angeles. Oscar time, of course. Red carpets are rolled out across the city at countless soirées and celebrations, all toasting the spectacle of Tinseltown’s homegrown industry. At the glamorous Christopher Guy showroom in West Hollywood, CEO Christopher Guy Harrison has put his own inimitable spin on the festivities with an exhibition honoring renowned British graphic designer and filmmaker Arnold Schwartzman.

Born in London, Schwartzman came to Hollywood in 1978 to work with legendary designer Saul Bass. In 1981 he won an Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature for Genocide , a film he produced and directed. In all, his illustrious career has spanned six decades, with important work for clients around the globe, including the Conran Design Group, the London Sunday Times , the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games, the United Nations Peace Monument at the Korean War Memorial Museum in Seoul, and projects for the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, the Who, and other titans of rock. He has also had a long and fruitful association with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, designing numerous posters, billboards, programs, and other collateral material for the annual Academy Awards hoopla.

The exhibition opens on February 19 with an invitation-only fête featuring Schwartzman himself discussing his extraordinary life in art, film, and design. The show will remain open for public viewing during the following week.
