Zach Klein has cabin fever. As in, he’s obsessed. Five years ago, as he labored over his own Beaver Brook retreat in upstate New York, he started a Tumblr to which he posted images of remote shelters across the planet alongside photo updates on his own property. A treasure trove of unusual abodes, from a Swiss Family Robinson–worthy tree house in Idaho to geodesic domes in the Alps, the site, cleverly named Cabin Porn took off. Now Klein has compiled more than 200 of the stunning photographs into a book of the same name ( Little, Brown and Company , $30). Featuring awesome imagery alongside cool tips—how to build a yurt or convert a grain silo into a getaway—the tome is sure to decorate many a salvaged-wood cocktail table in the forest.
