The Ronald McDonald House of Long Island—a 42-bedroom respite for the families of seriously ill children undergoing medical treatment in nearby hospitals—has received a $4 million revamp. Fabric manufacturer Kravet led the initiative, titled Project Design, and asked 45 interior designers to transform areas of the house into comfortable, stylish, and happiness-enhancing spaces. A charming tepee lives in a bedroom designed by Kelly Dall. Sculptural and brightly colored, midcentury-inspired chairs fill the tower lounge by Danielle Colding, Young Huh, and Drew McGukin. And things get Zen in a Turkish-inspired rooftop retreat by Suzanne Costa.

*The house will be open to the public through Sunday, October 19. Tickets are $25 for adults and $10 for students and children under 12. Proceeds will benefit the Ronald McDonald House. rmhlongislandrg
