Oregon is one step closer to opening the country’s second largest waterfall to the public. Governor Kate Brown has announced that the design team of Mayer/Reed, Snøhetta, and Dialog will redevelop the Riverwalk portion of the Willamette Falls Legacy Project on the site of the now-closed Blue Heron Paper Mill in Oregon City, located just south of Portland. “The design team’s approach highlights the falls and the complex material layers of the site,” said Michelle Delk, Snøhetta’s director of landscape architecture, in a statement. The team will begin working on plans this summer, and the final design will follow.
